Stretch Marks Condition
Stretch marks appear on the surface of the skin, often as red, pink, brown or purple streaks. The most common areas of the body where stretch marks can form include: thighs, hips, buttocks and abdomen and are the result of over stretched skin. Although stretch marks are often dark in colour when they first appear, they will fade over time to become much paler, often looking white or silvery in colour.

Stretch Marks
Stretch marks will often develop through periods of sudden growth or weight gain which causes the skin to stretch. Teenagers will often experience this concern as their body changes shape during adolescence and growth spurts are likely. Pregnant women commonly develop stretch marks on the stomach and hips as the body grows and adapts to accommodate the developing baby and prepares to give birth. Weight gain will also stretch the skin as it works to accommodate the growing shape of the body, with weight loss also causing the appearance of stretch marks.
As the skin stretches either too much or too rapidly, the middle layer of the dermis tears. This reveals deeper layers of the skin which are different in colour than that which is seen on the surface.
Treating stretch marks through the skill and expertise of Dr. Madhuri Pawar can improve the look of this common concern. These procedures work to improve the tone and texture of the skin, producing healthy new skin cells. Although treatments can go a long way to improve the appearance of stretch marks, they may not completely disappear. Reducing the chance of developing new stretch marks in the future will often rely on maintaining your ideal weight and size through the upkeep of a healthy lifestyle.
